First Impressions of Namibia

Namibia seems to be a very arid country where all educated folks speak at least 3 languages-wow. Now Lothar and I can’t talk to each other in an uncommon language here.–most speak Afrikaans, German, English and some a tribal language.
Water is a scarce commodity and they seem to respect this problem. No public fountains are splashing any water. All dripping faucets and dripping toilets must be reported to the reception at a hotel or hostel.
Even though only 8% of the population are of German origin, there is alot of German-based food here. Lothar had Sauerbraten for lunch. I was more adventurous and had Kudu pieces in a delicious apple wine sauce-yummy
There seems to be a great rift between rich and poor. The middle class looks like it is definitely lacking, as seems to always be the case in these 3rd world nations, that are coming straight up into the 1st world.
More next time, my internet is done.

Keep up the great travelogue. We love reading about your travels.
We saw Dr. Abraham this morning. Nothing serious. Art is going for
some physical therapy for his back- the gel has slid out of L5.
Meanwhile he is walking up to 2 miles a day. Take care you two.
